Celanese Corporation has introduced three new sustainable engineering thermoplastics at the Fakuma International Trade Fair for Plastics Processing in Germany. These materials maintain performance comparable to traditional plastics while promoting a circular economy. The sustainable solutions draw from three sources: carbon capture and utilization, recycled content, and ISCC+ certified bio-based feedstocks. Featured materials include:
- Hostaform®: The first POM made with low-carbon ISCC-certified methanol, offering the same stiffness, thermal stability, and wear resistance as standard POM, with no requalification needed.
- Zytel® PA ECO-R: A line of PA66 and PA6 resins using post-industrial recycling (PIR) content, achieving up to 32% carbon footprint reduction.
- Vectra®, which features up to 75% renewable content, it delivers the same dimensional stability as traditional LCPs while reducing environmental impact.
