Island Pharmaceuticals expanded its Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) and the Geneva Foundation to advance a dose-optimization study of its antiviral galidesivir for Marburg virus disease. The study will be conducted in high-containment BSL-4 facilities and aims to determine the minimally effective dose and optimal timing of treatment following exposure to the lethal Angola strain of Marburg virus. Results from the study are expected to support the company’s broader FDA Animal Rule development pathway and inform future pivotal efficacy studies for potential biodefence applications.
