UT Southwestern Launches North Texas Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center to Advance Treatment Discovery

UT Southwestern Medical Center has launched the North Texas Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (NT-ADRC), a collaborative effort with UT Dallas and UT Arlington focused on advancing research into Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. The center is receiving a five-year award expected to total $23 million and will investigate factors such as cardiovascular health and aging while supporting clinical trials, biomarker discovery, advanced PET imaging, and longitudinal patient research. As one of only two Alzheimer’s Disease Research Centers in Texas, the NT-ADRC is designed to accelerate treatment discovery, strengthen North Texas’ dementia research ecosystem, and provide education and research opportunities for scientists, clinicians, patients, caregivers, and the broader community.
