UT Southwestern spinoff MusiQ Bio received a $2.59 million CPRIT grant to develop a cancer immunotherapy that uses ultrasound-responsive microbubbles to activate the immune system. The technology, called MUSIC, delivers cGAMP to immune cells and has reduced tumor growth in animal studies of breast cancer and melanoma. The funding will support further research toward eventually testing the technology in human clinical trials.
